The fate of primed soil carbon between biomass immobilization and respiration is controlled by nutrient availability

چکیده
A positive Priming Effect (PE) is defined as an acceleration of the decomposition soil organic matter (SOM) by a fresh (FOM) input. But in literature many studies present this phenomenon extra loss carbon from SOM to atmosphere. actually mixture pools with different turnover rates, and microorganisms generating PE are heterotrophic. Therefore, whether fact C depends on targeted pool (high or low turnover) ratio between incorporation primed into microbial biomass vs its mineralization. A13 nutrient-poor tropical (enriched not cocktail nutrients) was incubated submitted two successive wheat-straw inputs differential 13C enrichment, order observe one straw other, measure specific respiration pools. In our soil, nutrient enrichment intensified basal while it lowered Our study showed that, allocation CO2 were similar depended status soil. We did any impact freshly amended fate previous amendment, but conversely we observed input rate following one, well liberated toward rather than CO2.

Soil-nutrient availability affected by different biomass-ash applications
This study, through an incubation experiment, evaluates the effect that different biomass ashes exert on the extractability of nutrients and some chemical parameters and dehydrogenase activity of a slightly acid soil. Three types of as were selected: two new ashes generated by the dry combustion of olive cake or by gasification of greenhouse vegetable wastes, and a third produced by wood combus...

the purpose of the present study was to investigate the relationship between fear of negative evaluation (fne) and communication strategies (css) among iranian efl learners. it was aimed to examine the differences in the use of communication strategies between speakers with high or low degree of fear of negative evaluation. the current study was a case study consisting of 10 english learners at...
Are variations in heterotrophic soil respiration related to changes in substrate availability and microbial biomass carbon in the subtropical forests?
Soil temperature and moisture are widely-recognized controlling factors on heterotrophic soil respiration (Rh), although they often explain only a portion of Rh variability. How other soil physicochemical and microbial properties may contribute to Rh variability has been less studied. We conducted field measurements on Rh half-monthly and associated soil properties monthly for two years in four...
متن کاملThe fate of caesium-137 in a soil environment controlled by immobilization on clay minerals
Caesium-137 (Cs), with its high release rate and long half life, is the most important longterm contributor to environmental contamination of all the radionuclides released by the accident at the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power plant in March 2011. There have been many surveys of the fate of Cs in terrestrial environments, especially after the atmospheric nuclear tests of the 1950s and 60s and...
متن کاملForest soil carbon is threatened by intensive biomass harvesting.
Forests play a key role in the carbon cycle as they store huge quantities of organic carbon, most of which is stored in soils, with a smaller part being held in vegetation. While the carbon storage capacity of forests is influenced by forestry, the long-term impacts of forest managers' decisions on soil organic carbon (SOC) remain unclear. Using a meta-analysis approach, we showed that conventi...
